Behind the Batch: How We Package Gourmet Treats 100% Plastic-Free
May 20, 2026 · 5 min read · Raleigh, North Carolina
When we say 100% plastic-free, we mean it — from the bag your cookies rest in to the tape that seals the box. Here is how we keep that promise in our Raleigh, North Carolina kitchen on every single order.
Starting with the right materials
We package our gourmet cookies in food-safe glassine and kraft-paper liners, nestle them in recyclable boxes, and finish each one with natural cotton twine. No plastic windows, no poly bags, no bubble wrap.
- Glassine liners keep cookies fresh and are home-compostable.
- Kraft paper and recycled board protect treats in transit without foam or plastic.
- Cotton twine and paper tape seal every box the old-fashioned way.
Why plastic-free matters in North Carolina
North Carolina's beaches, rivers, and forests are part of what makes living here special. Cutting plastic out of our packaging is a small way we try to protect the place our customers call home. It also means your gift can go straight into the recycling or compost bin — no guilt, no landfill.
Keeping treats fresh without plastic
The secret is baking in small batches and shipping quickly. Because our cookies are made fresh for each Monday and Wednesday drop, they do not need plastic to stay soft — they simply do not sit around long enough to go stale.
Thoughtful treats, thoughtfully wrapped. That is the Batch and Twine way.
